Andrew Murray is a Scottish professional tennis player. He started his career as a twelve year-old boy. His strongest weapon is his reverse shot. His good technique and solid stance has helped him perform well in different court surfaces.

Murray began his professional career in 2005. The previous year, when he was 17 years-old, he was highlighted by winning the U.S. Open Junior tournament. After this, he was invited to participate in the Davis Cup representing Great Britain, but he did not play any matches.

Murray dedicated most of his training to improve his technique and his on the court tactics. In 2006 he won his first ATP title, the SAP Open. He reached the fourth round of Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. He finished the year ranked 17th in the ATP rankings.

In 2007, he reached the fourth round of the Australian Open. After that, he could not compete in the French Open, in Queen's and Wimbledon due to injuries. Upon his recovery, he played with Britain and won the Davis Cup against Croatia.

The 2007 was a regular year for Murray, but he managed to finish eleventh in the rankings.

In 2008, Andy Murray participates in the Australia Open, but was defeated in the first round by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He did not do well in either the American and the European tours. Still, he managed to advance to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, where was defeated by Rafael Nadal.

He had a great comeback in the U.S. Open. He made it all the way into the final match, but lost the championship game to Roger Federer.

In 2010 Murray is now third in the ATP ranking, after beating Roger Federer in the final of the Australian Open
