The BNP Paribas Masters is the ninth and the last ATP series event of the season. It was known as the Paris Open years before, but it is currently known as the Paribas Masters in Paris.

This tournament is considered the most prominent indoor event in the ATP Tour. The tournament is played at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy and most of the best players participate in this event.

The prize money of this event is mostly US$2,450,000. This tournament is played in singles and in doubles since 1972.

Important Facts

  • The only two players that have won three titles in the tournament are Marat Safin in 2000, 2002 and 2004; and Boris Becker during 1986, 1989 and 1992.
  • The champion of last year is David Nalbandian who beated Rafael Nadal 6-4,6-0.
  • The Singles main sketch comprises of 39 direct entries, six qualifiers and three wild cards.
  • The doubles include 10 teams directly admitted depending to their doubles rankings, four teams are part of the tournament according to the singles rankings of at least one of the players and two teams granted wild cards.
  • The last double final (2007) was won by the American Bryan brothers beating Daniel Nestor form Canada and his partner from Serbia Nenad Zimonjić 6-3, 7-6.
