Carragher Calling Concentration to his Teammates

By Ally White

Liverpool player Jamie Carragher called the attention of his teammates to maintain their attention and focus on the league; regardless of being amused about what is coming in the Champions League confrontation with Chelsea or the risk is being left in fourth place by Everton.

Carragher is thrilled with the way Liverpool have got their heads in front of their rivals in current weeks; but he considers any loss of focus and attention at this last phase of the season could cost them their success.

"We've got to concentrate on Fulham game first," he said. "We can't afford to look ahead two games in the future and if we were to take our eye off the game against Fulham we could end up losing that and maybe losing a bit of confidence for when we do play Chelsea."

The previous season, Liverpool was defeated 1-0 and with most of his senior players haven’t taking a rest further on of the Champions League final however; Carragher persists that no matter what the side the Red boss choose on Saturday they will be prepared.

"We will have had almost a week since the Blackburn game so it's not as if we won't have the time to prepare. Fulham is fighting for its life at the moment and they had a good result against Reading during the weekend but we've got plenty of confidence ourselves and we'll be going there looking to get the win. I'm sure it will be tough because Fulham needs the points as much as we do for different reasons but we're on a good run of form and we have to look to take that into this game."

Liverpool defeated Blackburn 3-1 on Sunday and that provide to Liverpool a five point advantage over Everton in the League Premier. Although; Carragher rejects to accept and believes the competition for the fourth place is won.

"Everton have had a great season and you can't write them off even though they've got a few difficult games coming up," he said. "Until it's mathematically certain we can't rest. We have got to keep our form going because I'm sure Everton will take it right to the wire. We have got an advantage at the moment and we are pleased with that but five points can go pretty quickly."

Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool can tally upon two players, who are Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard whose recent form collocates them up there with anybody in world football at this moment.

Torres and Gerrard scored against Blackburn on Sunday and again Carragher was astonished with these two players’ contribution.

For Carragher, Fernando is probably the stand out striker in world football; he is just impressed with his support towards Liverpool.

"To get 30 goals in your first season is a fantastic achievement and hopefully he can go on and get a few more goals this season. People said he didn't have his best game against Blackburn but he scored another important goal and that's his job.

Also for Carragher, Steven Gerrard was the man of the match for the game against Blackburn, he performs in great way reaching his 300th league game for Liverpool.

"He scored the first goal, set another up and played really well. A few years ago I said he was the best player in the world and I stand by that. I would rather have Stevie in the Liverpool team than Kaka, Messi, Ronaldinho, whoever you want to mention. That's the way I judge him."
