Scotland to play against India in one-day international
By Cindy Ferguson
Scotland will play against India for the first time in a one-day international test series that is scheduled to start on Thursday at 10:45 and is to take place in Glasgow where the home team will be led out by the bowler Paul Hoffman.
The Scottish team will count with the presence of Navdeep Poonia and Dewald Nel, which are two players that fans hope will help tremendously and maybe even assure a win. Poonia and Nel have definitely increased the expectations of a good outcome. Scotland also relies on the knowledge of all rounder Gavin Hamilton.
Ryan Watson, captain of the Scottish squad, is convinced that their well-known rivals will not frighten his players. His positivism comes from the result of their competition within in the World Cup that was held in the Caribbean at the beginning of the year, where they took part at the maximum stage. Watson stated that is was a perfect and improbable chance to come together with players of this ability and compares them to what the match against India will be like.
On the other hand, a small number of of India’s Test pin-ups will not be elements in Thursday’s contest, but will most likely have as many of their one day professionals play as possible and take participation in the match. Some probable players to come on to the scene are batsmen Robin Uthappa, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir; seamers Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel and Zaheer Khan.
Around 2,000 tickets have already been sold and many viewers will be disappointed if the likes of Rahul Dravid, a former overseas professional for Scotland, and Sachin Tendulkar are left out of the match.
