Worcestershire seeking to sign Gul

Umar Gul, Pakistan’s fast bowler is on Worcestershire’s favorite prospect list for the 2008 season; as one of the foreign players. The Pears current aim is to have him connected with them by the month of May to form an exhilarating joint venture with Simon Jones and Kabir Ali that will benefit the team greatly.
The 23-years-old offer is to be discussed between Worcestershire and the Pakistan Cricket Board, which has the last word of whether or not their proposal will be permitted.
Worcestershire chief executive; Mark Newton is the man in charge of dealing with the negotiations between the two parties and has affirmed that an offer has already been made. He has been dealing with Umar's spokesperson in the United Kingdom assures that he will persist to discuss and see what is achievable.
The negotiations include Umar to be present for the first part of next season from early May to early August to come to completion with the contracting of Simon Jones, Kabir Ali and Matt Mason all for next season.
Umar is considered as one of the most stimulating prospects around proving his skills in both Test cricket and Twenty20 cricket. Gul has taken 67 wickets in 16 Tests at an average of 31.55 and with a strike rate of a wicket every nine overs.
Other skills he possesses are: his management of good pace along with his ability at swinging and seaming the ball with immense power and bringing into play his altitude to remove spring back from the most lifeless tracks.
His reputation ascended near the beginning of his international career, with a match-winning tow of 5-31 against India in a Lahore Test back in April, 2004. Three stress fractures of his back obligated him to remain still for almost two years until his next Test cap, nevertheless when he came back with complete strength we can see he had lost none of his impact.
