One of the most important events in golf, the British Open, will take place from July 19th to the 22nd this year, at the Carnoustie Championship Course.

The past winners of the championship Tommy Armour, Henry Cotton, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Tom Watson and Paul Lawrie, who’d left a mark on the event history, will be on the fans sight at this magnificent place. The tournament just promises to be awesome.

There are some important facts and news about the event. We can mention that also Justin Leonard will be present on the Open; getting back in history, he won the title in 1997 and got defeated by Paul Lawrie in 1999 while disputing the title in a play-off.

Tony Jacklin, who has been the owner of the US Open for several times, will be playing also in July.

The Carnoustie organizers are just working for the British Open to be an unforgettable occurrence in golf history. The field has been submitted to some improvements as four new holes; since golf is the most popular game among rich and famous they want make of it a brilliant event.

Tiger Woods who is the youngest and most successful golf player, besides being a millionaire, will try to get the title for third time in a row. Woods won last year at Hoylake and in 2005 at St Andrews.
