Venus Williams is a professional tennis player who was born on June 17, 1980 in Lynwood, California. She is considered as the world No.1 with a brilliant career. She is also an Olympic gold medalist, who holds 14 Grand Slam titles, six singles at Wimbledon, six women doubles and two mixed doubles titles. Her sister Serena Williams has been also World No.1 becoming Venus’ inspiration; both sisters no doubt - wonders of tennis.
This imminent female tennis player obtained her 4th Wimbledon title in London in six finales, but her 6th title in a Grand Slam; giving her country the victory and turning the trophy back where it should be according to her sister.
Her opponent, the French Marion Bartoli was defeated in two sets by 6-4 and 6-1, fact developed in hour and a half. This was Bartoli’s first game in a Grand Slam final, at 22 years old, she gave her best efforts to get her first title, but was definitely not possible.
Williams is among the best female tennis players at the moment holding the record for the fastest serve ever recorded by a female player in a main draw match which is 128.8 mph.
The Californian girl, made an extraordinary trip through all the sets of the game, climbing one level each one until reaching the top, which undoubtedly was her main goal, working really hard to take this triumph home.
Wimbledon championship is the oldest and most prestigious tennis event which takes part between June/July and it is the third tournament of the Grand Slam, preceded by the Australian Open and French Open and followed by the US Open, it lasts close to two weeks but there is always the possibility of being extended due to weather changes.
